Mr. Jason D. Wood

Jason D. Wood presently serves as Research Associate at the Institute for Foreign Policy Analysis in Washington, DC. In this capacity, he contributes to a wide variety of studies, conferences, and research related to foreign and defense policy issues. His current research interests include grand strategy, military doctrine, geopolitics and space policy.

 

Previously published on the topic of military command and control, he is the author of a forthcoming Comparative Strategy study on Clausewitz’s center of gravity doctrine in the post-9/11 security environment. Additionally, Mr. Wood has published two profiles of senior Capitol Hill committee staffers for National Journal.

 

From 2005-2007, he served as an Earhart Fellow at Missouri State University’s Department of Defense and Strategic Studies in Washington, DC. In 2004, and again in 2005, he worked in the U.S. House of Representatives for Majority Whip Roy Blunt. From 1996-1999, he resided and studied in Kyiv, Ukraine and maintains a working command of the Russian language.

 

Mr. Wood earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government from Evangel University, in Springfield, Missouri and a Master of Science in Defense and Strategic Studies from Missouri State University, where his study of democratic revolution in China was awarded the distinguished thesis honor.
